Mission & Goals
Mission Statement
Our mission is to promote the inclusion of disabled staff, create programming designed to ensure equity in the workplace for disabled staff, and to champion a definition of diversity that locates disability at its core.
Goals
- To provide disabled staff with access to on- and off-campus resources
- To educate the campus community about the meaning of disability
- To promote a definition of inclusion that recognizes the intrinsic value of disabled staff to the campus-wide pursuit of excellence
- To build relationships among disabled staff and between disabled staff and other historically marginalized groups
- To highlight the contributions of dedicated UCB employees who just happen to have disabilities
- To ensure that disabled staff remain stake-holders in the mission to collectively build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce
- To providing disabled staff with a level of support that is based on the kind of empowerment and independence consistent with the richness of the UC Berkeley campus culture
We believe the long-term success of this project will yield a more highly-skilled and diverse workforce, a more equitable workplace environment, and a campus community that celebrates success together as one.
